Carbon nanotubes on graphene-silicon carbide

This CNT topography information was recorded in the context of an advanced nanotechnology training course at the Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena in 2008.

Images show CNTs bound to a graphene-silicon carbide surface. The overview image (see Picture 3, bottom of page) shows weakly bound CNTs (lying across steps in the substrate's surface) and strongly bound CNTs (bound at the step edges). Pictures 1 and 2 show different magnifications of the same area, centering on the CNT bound in the middle of Picture 3.
