Characterization of pyrene nanosheets by AFM

Researchers from Berne university have been able to assemble pyrene molecules into extra-large nanosheets

Mykhailo Vybornyi, Alexander Rudnev, and Robert Häner of the chemistry department of Berne university used the Nanosurf Flex-Axiom system to characterize extra-large nanosheets assembled from Pyrene molecules ( Chem. Mater., 2015, 27, 1426–31). The sheets reached sizes of over 10µm in diameter. Imaging was carried out in dynamic mode. Data were processed with the SPIP image processing and 3D visualization software by Image Metrology.
