Defect Engineering As a Versatile Route to Estimate Various Scattering Mechanisms in Monolayer Graphene on Solid Substrates

A Nanosurf STM was employed to study lattice defects in graphene monolayers obtained by liquid phase exfoliation of graphite in different solvents. Intact long-range ordered graphene lattices were observed in graphene monolayers prepared in non-polar media, while the graphene monolayers prepared in polar media showed a mixture of ordered and disordered regions.
